Dantaxi delivers an update on its growing EV fleet

Denmark’s primary cab service, Dantaxi, has sent an update on its EV fleet. The company runs over 400 electric cabs at present from 14 different brands. Three manufacturers come out particularly favourably.

Dantaxi says the favourite EVs among cabbies come from Volkswagen, Mercedes, and Tesla. The first Polestar also joined the fleet in 2022, after the driver had four diesel taxis over 20 years. Dantaxi did not publish a ranking of the ten remaining manufacturers and makes. A press photo also shows a Mercedes-Benz EQS 450 in Dantaxi colours.

There has also been news on mileage as Dantaxi EVs accumulated 32 zero-emission kilometres in the first eleven months of this year.

The company’s app is available nationwide in Denmark, with the fleet comprising 1,900 cars, of which 400 are already electric, making for 21.05% of the fleet. However, the EV service appears concentrated in Copenhagen, where Dantaxi opened a large taxi charging hub with E.On in May last year. Already then, they claimed 300 e-taxis serving in the Danish capital. Pictures showed the Mercedes EQC, Tesla Model S and Jaguar I-Pace charging in Dantaxi livery.

The city of Copenhagen expects providers to transform the taxi fleets to zero-emission by 2025 in line with plans to become the world’s first CO2-neutral city by that time.

Dantaxi is part of the Moove Group. Founded in 2022, Moove wants to offer mobility-as-a-service of all kinds.
