Bender & CCV cooperate to offer open payment systems

The payment specialist CCV and Bender, a supplier of charging controllers, will jointly implement open payment systems at EV charging stations throughout Europe. Their targets include installing around 300,000 open-loop terminals, including in the UK, over the next few years.

CCV has won the tender of Bender Group, and ebee smart technologies, a subsidiary of Bender Group, takes the lead on implementation. The payment terminals will be part of Bender’s charge controllers and become available to charging station operators  (CPOs) as a complete solution.

EV drivers will be able to pay contactless, including PIN on Glass and e-receipts, and require no subscription, charging pass or token. The charge controller will also have charging and load management tools to ensure sustainable and cost-effective charging.

Contactless payments and open access are increasingly common in funding practices in the EU and the UK.

“We believe that open payments are key to the future of EV charging, and we are committed to delivering the best payment solutions to our customers,” said John Kolthof, CCO of CCV GmbH.

“We have chosen CCV not only because of their extensive experience in the payment market but also because they provide the full-service payment package, from developing the payment solution to transaction processing as well as supplying the hardware and value-added services,” added Frank Mehling, Business Development eMobility at Bender.
