VinFast owner sets up EV rental service GSM
Vingroup Chairman Pham Nhat Vuong wants to promote green mobility by using VinFast electric cars and scooters for rental services. He founded the Green and Amart Mobility Joint Stock Company (GSM) in Vietnam. A company in which he holds a 95 per cent stake.

Sixt and BYD bring their cooperation Down Under as the German company will add at least 500 BYD EVs to the rental car fleet in Australia over the next twelve months. Sixt runs one of the country’s largest electric car fleets and works with BYD on other continents.

Uber to start electrifying fleet in India with 25,000 Tata BEVs
Ride-hailing company Uber will introduce 25,000 electric cars in India over the next three years through its platform. A memorandum of understanding signed with Tata Motors envisages the phased delivery of 25,000 units of Tata’s Xpres-T EV electric car from this month.

Canoo confirms major order from Kingbee in the USA
Canoo has received a binding order for 9,300 electric vans from US vehicle rental company Kingbee. The agreement includes the option to double the order to 18,600 electric vehicles, and is the third deal Canoo has announced in around three months.

BYD will provide 100,000 electric cars to Sixt by 2028
Sixt and BYD have concluded a long-term agreement that guarantees the rental company access to up to 100,000 BYD electric cars over the next six years. Starting now, Sixt expects BYD to provide the first EVs in Q4 2022, in synch with the Chinese manufacturer’s launch in Europe.

US car subscription service Autonomy orders 22,790 BEVs
The US electric car subscription service Autonomy has ordered 22,790 electric cars worth around 1.2 billion dollars. The provider, which until now has specialised mainly in Tesla models, has ordered a total of 45 different vehicle models from 17 carmakers – including Tesla again.
