Quantron, together with its partner Electromin, announces the delivery of 50 all-electric light trucks in Saudi Arabia. The Qargo 4 EV Light Truck vehicles have been earmarked for use by customers such as PepsiCo and Red Sea Global. According to Quantron, this is the largest delivery of battery electric trucks in Saudi Arabia to date.

Electromin is a subsidiary of Petromin, which is a fuel company from Saudi Arabia, as the name suggests. The company describes itself as a “leading multi-national organization in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, standing as a strong transformative force, enabling the movement of people, products and services through sustainable and innovative mobility solutions.” We had first reported on the company towards the end of last year, when Electromin announced plans to build a charging network in Saudi Arabia.

According to Quantron, the battery-electric QARGO 4EV has been specially designed for urban transport and last-mile deliveries. The electric truck has a range of more than 250km, powered by a CATL battery with 81kWh. The charging process supposedly takes about one hour.

“By joining forces, Electromin and Quantron have forged a powerful alliance that capitalizes on their unique skill sets and positions them at the forefront of the e-mobility revolution in KSA,” said Kalyana Sivagnanam, Group CEO of Petromin. “This synergistic partnership enables the pooling of resources, knowledge, and experience, paving the way for the creation of innovative, sustainable mobility solutions that will revolutionize transportation in the Kingdom.”
