Osprey Charging and Starbucks UK have announced the completion of the first of a series of new rapid charging locations they are working together to develop for Starbucks customers. The newly constructed facility provides three 75 kW rapid charge points and is now open for customers alongside a Starbucks drive-through on Intown Road, Aberdeen. The Starbucks site is the first of several in the UK intended for rapid charge points with Osprey, with the next location expected to be at the St Johns Retail Park in Bedford, Bedfordshire.

“We are committed to providing our customers with the opportunity to make more sustainable choices. The opening of the EV charging point at Aberdeen is a great example of this and is the first of several such projects we have planned,” said Jacqui Wetherly, Director of Sustainability at Starbucks UK, adding: “The ability to charge easily and conveniently is critical in making electric vehicles a reality and we are pleased to be able to offer customers the opportunity to do so while enjoying the iconic Starbucks experience.”

Osprey has been steadily improving the charging infrastructure of the UK this year, announcing public-private partnerships with Dacorum Borough Council in the east of England, as well as a partnership with Motability in September. In May, Osprey had also opened two fast charging hubs.
