Last September, Equipmake announced the preceding order for electric drivetrain systems, which was to provide sufficient drivetrain systems to power 50 Agrale buses. These buses are currently being deployed in Buenos Aires.

Following the successful deployment, Agrale has now placed an additional order to power another 23 buses. Under the agreement, Equipmake is supplying Agrale with a fully integrated electric drivetrain system combining an electric motor, inverter, control systems, and battery pack.

“We are delighted to receive a further order with Agrale which demonstrates the confidence that they have in our ability to deliver Equipmake systems in South America,” commented Equipmake CEO Ian Foley, adding: “The successful deployment of the initial fleet in Buenos Aires has led to this follow-on order which helps cement the relationship with such an important customer together with our shared commitment to developing a robust sustainable transport network in the region.”

Equipmake has a variety of customers in the field of commercial vehicles, and introduced a new generation of electric drives in 2024. Its customers mainly include public transport operators from Europe, such as Wrightbus or the Big Bus Tours sightseeing fleet. With Agrale, this further extends the drive manufacturers’ reach in Brazil, the company is based in Caxias do Sul.
