20 BYD electric trucks headed for Ecuador

BYD has received another order from South America. Public transport provider Transcarsell from Ecuador has ordered 20 electric trucks from BYD for delivery by 2021, the first of which is scheduled for August 2020.

Solaris electric buses arrive in Berlin

The first Solaris electric bus has arrived in Berlin from an order placed in summer last year when Berlin’s public transport authority, the BVG, ordered 90 Urbino 12 electric buses. Another order of 90 vehicles is still pending.

Škoda Auto’s BeRider e-scooters return to Prague

This month, the green-painted electric scooters from the BeRider sharing initially launched through Škoda Auto’s DigiLab will return to the centre of Prague and in much greater numbers. This follows the completion of a successful pilot project exploring the potential for the service in the Czech capital.

GreenGo electric car-sharing expands to Prague

The Hungarian provider GreenGo is starting an electric car-sharing service in Prague. The fleet will initially comprise of 100 VW e-Up and is to be doubled within three months. GreenGo is also active in Budapest, where the fleet was expanded last year from 45 to 300 electric cars.

Tier Mobility is planning a new scooter sharing service

Tier Mobility has acquired the approximately 5,000 electric scooters including the charging infrastructure of the discontinued sharing service Coup from Bosch. The electric scooters are initially to be launched in Berlin from May onwards. Further cities are also planned.

Renault to replace Moov’in with Zity in Paris

Renault and Ferrovial will bring their electric car-sharing Zity, which was launched in Madrid in 2017, to Paris in March. The launch on the Seine will take place with 500 Renault Zoe, which should replace Renault’s previous Moov’in fleet. In the coming years, the electric car-sharing service is to be extended to other European cities.

Translink looks to Vancouver for bus electrification

TransLink, the transport company responsible for the Greater Vancouver area in the Canadian province of British Columbia, plans to convert half of its bus fleet from diesel, natural gas and hybrid to battery operation by 2030. But the financing has not yet been finalised.

Grupo Bimbo, a bakery corporation from Mexico City, has integrated 100 electric trucks into its delivery fleet. But this is only the first step: a total of 4,000 more are to follow by the end of 2024 – 1,000 each year. They were developed by a subsidiary of the company.

Madrid opens free fully electric bus lines

DPD expands UK delivery fleet by 100 MAN eTGE

23 electric articulated-buses headed for Barcelona

Barcelona is expanding its electric bus fleet: Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) has ordered 23 articulated electric buses to replace diesel buses on the H16 line. The buses are 14 Solaris Urbino Electric and nine Irizar i2e, each 18 metres long and equipped with pantographs.
