Seat announces Cupra Born to release in second half of 2021
As part of a strategy presentation, the Seat brand Cupra has now shown the production version of the electric model based on the Volkswagen Group platform MEB, which was first presented in 2019 as el-Born. The car is scheduled to go into production in Zwickau in the second half of 2021.
Seat working on serial version of Cupra Tavascan
Seat is developing a production version of the purely electric concept car Cupra Tavascan. This was hinted at by the new brand boss Wayne Griffiths in an interview in which he described the all-electric SUV coupe as “our dream car”. Seat is also considering a small electric car based on MEB.
Seat to produce BEVs at main plant in Spain from 2025
Seat announced that it will start production of purely electric vehicles at its main plant in Martorell, Spain, from 2025 onwards. The Spanish brand is allocating 5 billion euros to R&D projects for new facilities, equipment and models. The VW subsidiary also revealed new details about the el-Born.
Seat Mii electric the cheapest of VW’s electric cars
Seat has published the price for the Mii electric for Germany. The small electric car of the Spanish Volkswagen subsidiary will be available at a basic list price of 20,650 euros and is, therefore, cheaper than the sister models of the Škoda and VW brands.
Seat makes electrification plans public
Seat has put its electrical strategy into concrete terms. The VW subsidiary plans to launch six electrified models on the market by the beginning of 2021. The electric versions of the Seat Mii and the Seat el-Born will be the first two all-electric models of the Spanish car brand.
