Mercedes announces changes in management
Mercedes-Benz has announced various new appointments in top management, affecting Level 1 below the Group Board of Management. Among others, Christoph Starzynski, currently Head of Development Electric Drive, will assume responsibility for the overall vehicle development of all Mercedes-Benz passenger car series as of 1 July 2023.

Production kicks off for the Mercedes EQE in China
Beijing Benz Automotive (BBAC) has started production of the all-electric EQE in China. The EQE is now rolling off the production line at the BBAC plant in the Shunyi district of the Chinese capital Beijing. The batteries for the EQE are also produced by BBAC.

Mercedes reveals production locations for EQ ramp up
Mercedes-Benz is now providing a comprehensive overview of the production sites for its electric offensive for the EQ brand. Production of the EQA at the Rastatt plant in Germany among others has already started ahead of the model’s world premiere on 20 January 2021.

BAIC and Daimler to invest €1.5 billion in China
Daimler and BAIC want to invest 11.9 billion yuan, or 1.5 billion euros, in China through their joint venture Beijing Benz Automotive to build a new local production facility. They will produce new energy vehicles among other models.

Daimler’s global production hubs for batteries and EVs
Mercedes is currently building its electrification strategy and establishes connected hubs to build batteries and electric cars across the globe. Daimler needs to keep on track to launch 10 all-electric models by 2022 and to electrify across the entire range.
