Robotic charging solutions for heavy-duty EVs
Robotics specialist Rocsys is now cooperating with Grivix and VDL Enabling Transport Solutions to develop a robotic charging solution for high-performance charging of heavy electric commercial vehicles. The consortium plans to start validation tests this year.
ARTEMYS researches solid-state battery production
In the research project ARTEMYS funded by the German government, research institutes and industrial partners are working on the development of materials and production technologies for solid-state batteries. The new battery should also be able to do without polymer components.
ZellkoBatt project to further German battery production
The ZellkoBatt project starting this month has the goal of optimising large-format lithium-ion cells for automotive applications while reducing the costs of components and production processes. The project will be undertaken by the Centre for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg (ZSW) in Germany.
Start of Saft battery cell pilot production in France
France’s head of state Emmanuel Macron and Germany’s research minister Anja Karliczek have given the official go-ahead for a battery cell pilot production in a factory of the manufacturer Saft in Nersac, southwest France. The pilot plant is scheduled to go into operation in mid-2021.
German battery cell production research centre situated
The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft has announced that its battery production research centre (FFB) will be located in Münster and will be set up at MEET (Electrochemical Energy Technology centre at Uni Münster). The German government funds the project with 500 million euros.
Germany funding solid-state battery research
The German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) launched a new cluster to foster basic research into solid-state batteries. Funding is at 16 million euros and the BMBF expects participants to translate their findings into applications.
