De Lijn secures up to 500 electric buses from Iveco
In the Belgian region of Flanders, Iveco Bus has signed a framework agreement with Flemish public transport company De Lijn for the delivery of up to 500 electric buses by 2030. The contract initially includes a firm order for 65 all-electric E-Way city buses in the articulated bus version.

De Lijn goes for charging management from PSI Transcom
In Belgium, the Flemish public transport company De Lijn is procuring the PSI eBus charging and depot management system from German supplier PSI Transcom for its electric buses. The software package will control the charging processes of the electric buses and the movements of all buses in De Lijn’s depots.

De Lijn to buy up to 1,250 electric buses within 6 years
The Board of Directors at De Lijn has agreed to procure up to 1,250 electric buses to take up service in Flanders over the next six years. The new tenders include zero-emission vehicles, from midi-buses over city buses to extra-long double bendy buses and run parallel to another tender issued last year.

Flanders grants operators €22,000 to buy electric buses
In the Flemish region of Belgium, bus operators may now claim 21,700 euros a year when replacing diesel buses with zero-emission models. Flanders’ government, together with the Federation of Belgian Coach and Bus Operators (FBAA) and De Lijn, have made concrete agreements.

The Flemish public transport company De Lijn has ordered 60 electric buses from Van Hool and VDL for delivery from the fourth quarter of next year. The order for the necessary charging infrastructure goes in equal parts to the two suppliers Spie-Ekoenergetyka and Heliox.

Belgium: De Lijn converts to plug-in hybrid buses
Flemish public transport operator De Lijn procures 44 new articulated buses with plug-in hybrid drives to green its operations. In addition, the operator will also convert 280 existing hybrid buses to plug-in hybrids to increase their electric range, out of a total fleet of 530.

VDL receives an order for 200 hybrid buses from Belgium
The Belgian transport company De Lijn has ordered 200 hybrid buses from VDL Bus & Coach. The order comprises 80 Citea SLE-120 Hybrid and 120 Citea SLFA-180 Hybrid, which will be used at various locations in Flanders, Belgium. The buses will always be powered electrically since the diesel is only used as a generator.

Belgium: Electric buses coming to Ghent and Leuven
VDL Bus & Coach has received an order from Flanders. Transport operator De Lijn wants to buy 146 buses in total, among them a large batch of hybrid models and some all-electric ones to arrive early next year. The buses will serve on routes in Ghent and Leuven.
