Toshiba TSS & Echandia work on marine H2 fuel cell systems

Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions (Toshiba ESS) has entered into a partnership with Echandia, a Swedish company engaged in fuel cell systems for maritime applications. The partnership will focus on the development of fuel-cell technology combined with batteries to accelerate the electrification of the maritime sector.

Teco and partners develop H2 fuel cell ship

The Norwegian company Teco 2030 is leading a consortium with partners Umoe Mandal and Blom Maritime to develop a hydrogen-powered high-speed ship with the help of government funding of 5 million kroner (just under 500,000 euros).

ABB & Ballard green-lit for maritime fuel cell concept

ABB and Ballard Power Systems have received Approval in Principle (AIP) from the international classification society DNV for their maritime fuel cell concept. The fuel cell system should be able to generate 3 megawatts of electrical power in ships.

Havyard developing fuel cell system for ships

The Norwegian Havyard Group is working with partners on a fuel cell system for large ships. The company is now entering the approval phase with Linde Engineering as tank supplier and PowerCell Sweden as fuel cell supplier.
