ABB & Ballard green-lit for maritime fuel cell concept
ABB and Ballard Power Systems have received Approval in Principle (AIP) from the international classification society DNV for their maritime fuel cell concept. The fuel cell system should be able to generate 3 megawatts of electrical power in ships.

Havyard developing fuel cell system for ships
The Norwegian Havyard Group is working with partners on a fuel cell system for large ships. The company is now entering the approval phase with Linde Engineering as tank supplier and PowerCell Sweden as fuel cell supplier.

ABB & SINTEF to scale up fuel cells as main ship drive
ABB and the research organisation SINTEF of Norway are investigating whether fuel cells are a feasible energy source for main ship propulsion. The partners will model a complete marine power system in a megawatt-scale propulsion plant.
