Hongqi signs sales partnership in the Netherlands
Hongqi is the next Chinese car brand to enter the European market with electric cars. The FAW Group subsidiary brand has been present in Norway since January 2022 and has now entered into a cooperation with Stern Premium Car in the Netherlands to import and distribute its vehicles.

BYD & FAW plan new battery plant in China
According to Chinese media, BYD and FAW are planning a production facility for electric car batteries with an annual capacity of 45 GWh in north-eastern China. A joint venture has apparently already been established, but official confirmation is still pending.

Byton resumes operations as Shengteng

FAW building new NEV factory in Changchun
The Chinese car manufacturer FAW has begun construction on a new plant in Changchun, where electrified cars are to be produced for its premium brand Hongqi. Completion of the plant, which will have an annual production capacity for 200,000 vehicles, is scheduled for 2022.

15 new EV models from FAW’s Hongqi by 2025
Chinese carmaker FAW wants to launch 15 all-electric models under its Hongqi brand by 2025, and will kick start the effort with the first EV this year. By 2020, range may reach 600 kilometres as a standard with autonomy to increase gradually.
