BMW presents additional data for the i7
BMW will present its electric flagship i7 at Auto China in Beijing on 20 April – and with it the new 7 Series. In advance, the manufacturer has shown the first teaser images of the uncloaked i7 and revealed some details.
BMW to eliminate all sounds in the i7
One of the goals in the series development of the all-electric BMW i7 is to keep as much disturbing noise away from the occupants as possible. BMW has now provided some details about the corresponding test programme on acoustic test benches specially designed for electromobility.
BMW i7 enters final testing phase
The series development of the BMW i7 is entering its final phase with a test programme under extreme road and weather conditions. The electric motors, all-wheel drive and high-voltage battery have to prove their performance and reliability under maximum load – currently testing in the world’s hot regions.
Will BMW release three 7 Series electric cars?
When announcing its annual figures last month, BMW confirmed that the next generation of the 7 Series would also have a purely electric model. Now it seems that they may even be planning three electric versions of the 7-series.
BMW will not renew the i3
BMW has no plans for a successor to the i3. Pieter Nota, head of BMW sales told the Financial Times that the German luxury carmaker will instead concentrate on merging battery and plug-in technology with its other vehicles, while it drums up some new purely electric vehicles.

That BMW boss Harald Krüger stumbled over his passive e-mobility strategy, is considered likely in the industry. What will happen under his successor Oliver Zipse remains unclear. However, insiders now deliberated a few details on BMW’s planned models.
