BMW announces model upgrades for 2023

BMW has announced a series of vehicle model upgrades for spring 2023, including the carmaker’s electric models. Starting in March 2023 all model variants of the BMW iX will be equipped with an improved version of the predictive heat management system for the high-voltage battery.

NHTSA asks BMW to recall 14,000 cars in the USA

BMW recalls over 14,000 hybrid electric cars in the US. The affected vehicles of type iX, i4 and i7 were manufactured with an electronic control unit for the battery pack that could cause a loss of power due to a software issue.

Japan’s MK Group uses electric BMWs as taxis

Japan’s MK Group has added 35 BMW electric cars in its taxi divisions in Tokyo and Kyoto. In the Japanese capital, the company is now using 20 BMW i7s, while in Kyoto a further ten BMW i7s and five BMW iXs have entered service.

BMW has released the i7 in China

BMW has introduced the all-electric i7 to the Chinese market. The i7 is the fifth electric model offered by BMW in China, following the iX, i4, iX3 and i3. The BMW i7 starts as xDrive60L at a base price of 1.46 million yuan, the equivalent of 198,870 euros.

BMW doubles EV sales globally in first half of 2022

The BMW Group sold a total of 75,891 fully electric vehicles of the BMW and Mini brands worldwide in the first half of 2022. This means that the Group more than doubled BEV sales compared to the same period last year (+110.3 per cent).
