Budding cell manufacturer Italvolt has entered into a strategic collaboration with Israeli battery developer StoreDot. Under the terms of the agreement, Italvolt will be able to use StoreDot’s ultra-fast charging (XFC) technology and manufacturing intellectual property rights by licence.

Lars Carlstrom, CEO of Italvolt and Statevolt and cofounder of Britishvolt, has revealed more details about Italvolt – the announced 45 GWh battery cell factory in the north-western Italian region of Piedmont. Carlstrom expects to receive the building permit in spring 2023.

Lars Carlstrom, the founder of Britishvolt and Italvolt, has announced another battery factory – this time in the USA. The newly founded company Statevolt is to build a factory in Southern California’s Imperial Valley that will offer an annual capacity of 54 GWh when fully expanded – enough for around 650,000 electric vehicles.

The newly founded company Italvolt wants to build the first ‘gigafactory’ for electric car battery cells in Italy. An initial capacity of 45 GWh is announced, which could later be expanded to 70 GWh. However, the planned start of production, among other points were not announced.
