BMW to launch i7 with rear-wheel drive in July
According to the German carmaker, the new BMW i7 eDrive50 offers a maximum output of 335 kW and comes with a range of 575 to 611 kilometres in WLTP. In the USA, both i7 and i4 customers also have the option of a boosted variant with longer ranges.

BMW kicks off production of the iX1 in Germany
BMW has started series production of the iX1 electric SUV at the plant in Regensburg. The all-electric model, which was presented in June, rolls off the production line there on a flexible production line with all drive forms on one line. This means that electric cars are now being built in all German BMW plants.

New BMW iX1 and base i4 variant to release in November
BMW has announced a series of market launches with electric and plug-in hybrid drives. The main focus is on the completely new X1 series, which for the first time is also available in a purely battery-electric version. The i4 will be followed by a new base model and two plug-in hybrids in the 7 Series.

BMW doubles EV sales globally in first half of 2022
The BMW Group sold a total of 75,891 fully electric vehicles of the BMW and Mini brands worldwide in the first half of 2022. This means that the Group more than doubled BEV sales compared to the same period last year (+110.3 per cent).

The all-electric BMW iX1 has successfully completed its driving dynamics testing at the BMW Group’s winter test centre in the Arctic Circle. The series development process has thus reached its final phase.

BMW wants more fully electric models
The BMW Board of Management has apparently given the go-ahead for electric versions of the 5 Series and the X1 compact SUV. An all-electric 5 Series is also part of BMW’s product plan in China. A fully electric 3-series will also be added.

Details about BMW’s future electric line-up
BMW has skipped its plans for an electric i5 and i9 but seeks to replace the latter through a smaller but spacious i7. That is at least what Georg Kacher says, known as insider to the branch. Moreover, the BMW i3 shall get a successor called iX1.
