Mercedes invests €2 billion in EU assembly plants for EVs
Mercedes-Benz has announced billions of euros of investment in its European assembly plants to equip them for the shift to electric cars by the end of the decade. This involves the production of vehicles on the new electric platforms to be introduced from 2025.

Mercedes EQB enters serial production
Series production of the all-electric Mercedes EQB has started at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Kecskemét, Hungary. The EQB, which was presented in April, is manufactured there for the world markets – only the China-specific version is built by the joint venture BBAC in Beijing.

Mercedes reveals production locations for EQ ramp up
Mercedes-Benz is now providing a comprehensive overview of the production sites for its electric offensive for the EQ brand. Production of the EQA at the Rastatt plant in Germany among others has already started ahead of the model’s world premiere on 20 January 2021.

Daimler in talks to sell French Hambach plant
Daimler plans to sell its plant in Hambach, France, where they build the Smart electric vehicles. In 2018, Daimler had announced that the factory would also make a compact model of the electric car brand EQ, presumably the EQB.
