Mercedes driver de Vries takes the lead in Formula E

After races 12 and 13 of the season in London, Mercedes-EQ driver Nyck de Vries has taken the lead in the Formula E World Championship. Two 2nd places were enough for the Dutch driver. The races were won by Jake Dennis in the BMW and Alex Lynn in the Mahindra.

Video tip: Mahindra already completed first test laps in its brand new all-electric racer for the upcoming second season of the Formula E. And all that before the first season has even ended. The last two rounds will take place in London this weekend.

Reading tip: In the UK, there were 57,567 publicly-funded charging points as of the end of the last financial year. According to The Independent, that is more than twice the number of registered electric vehicles – around 24,500 as of December 2014.

BMW electric MPV in the making: With backlogs of at least six months for the BMW i3 and i8 due to high demand, the Bavarian carmaker is already planning its next BMW i electric vehicle, according to a member of the BMW board. The Mahindra racing team is now complete. Karun Chandhok and Bruno Senna, two former Formula One drivers will join the upcoming Formula E Championship and make up the only Indian team. So far, six of the 20 Formula E drivers have been confirmed.
