Texan startup to design electric off-roader with GM powertrain
Volcon, a Texas-based off-road electric vehicle startup, will equip all of its models with General Motors powertrains. The company offers two- and four-wheeled electric vehicles for off-road use that are equipped with battery modules and other electric drive system components from GM.

Segway unleashes highspeed standing scooter
Segway just released a powerful standing electric scooter approaching 70 kph. Their GT2 delivers 3,000 watts and a range of up to 90 kilometres. However, Segway suggests the highest speed mode was only for “race tracks and private grounds” in a footnote on the product page.

Dongfeng begins construction of off-road EV plant
The Chinese manufacturer Dongfeng Motor has started building a new production facility for electric off-road vehicles in Wuhan. This is scheduled to start production in 2023 with a planned capacity of 10,000 vehicles.

Taiga Motors starts series snowmobile production
Today, Taiga Motors, a Canadian Powersports specialist, announced it has made its first electric snowmobiles and will commence deliveries this year. The take-off comes after delays in production and when pre-orders had opened in 2019.

Bollinger Motors EV with bigger battery
Bollinger’s electric sport and utility truck (SUT) or simply off-road EV will get a bigger battery. The U.S. startup revealed as much in their making-of the B1 video and says the 120 kWh pack will last for a min! range of 320 kilometres.
