Production start for the fuel cell Opel Vivaro
Opel has started production of the fuel cell variant of its Vivaro van model based on the battery-electric Vivaro-e in Rüsselsheim. The first unit of the fuel cell van has already been delivered.

Peugeot presents fuel cell van e-Expert Hydrogen
After Opel presented the fuel cell version of its Vivaro van model called Vivaro-e Hydrogen a few days ago, Peugeot now presents its e-Expert Hydrogen. This takes over the technology and is thus also supposed to offer a range of over 400 km according to WLTP.

Opel expands battery centre to cover eCMP models
Opel has upgraded its battery centre at its headquarters in Rüsselsheim. In addition to the Ampera and Ampera-e, the batteries of all Opel models on the eCMP platform (currently the Corsa-e and Mokka-e) and Combo-e, Vivaro-e and Zafira-e Life are now tested and, if necessary, repaired there.

PSA considers launching electric Peugeot 3008
The PSA Group has recently decided to produce the next generation of the Peugeot 3008 at the Sochaux site from 2022. Meanwhile, French media report that the new 3008 will come in a plug-in hybrid version as well as a purely electric offshoot.

Punch Powertrain & PSA form new joint venture
The PSA Group and the Belgian transmission manufacturer Punch Powertrain have signed an agreement to set up a second joint venture and expand their strategic partnership in the field of electrification. This will focus on transmissions for HEV and PHEVs – also for other manufacturers.

Opel turning HQ into ‘Electric City’ Rüsselsheim
The city of Rüsselsheim, Opel and the RheinMain University are driving the extension of charging infrastructure. Sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Economics, the installation of around 1,300 charging stations across Opel’s hometown will commence in the coming months.
