Hino Trucks expands electric truck lineup
Hino Trucks has announced that it will offer an electric version of their M- and L- Series medium-duty trucks branded ‘Me’ Series and ‘Le’ Series available in 2024. Hino Trucks will begin production of these new vehicles integrating SEA Electric’s SEA-Drive power system.

SEA Electric expands production facility in Melbourne
The Australian electric truck manufacturer SEA Electric has doubled the size of its local assembly facility in the Melbourne suburb of Dandenong. The truck maker’s current plant was expanded to now cover 8,000 square metres on a total site of 15,000 square metres.

SEA Electric unveils electric step van for the US market
SEA Electric has presented the new SV6 electric step van for the North American market. The electric transporter is powered by the SEA-Drive 120b power system and covers applications with a gross vehicle weight rating of up to 26,000lbs (Class 6), with its 250kW and 1,845 lb-ft performance ratings.

SEA Electric to convert 10k US school buses

SEA Electric scores its biggest e-truck deal to date
SEA Electric, originally from Australia and now also with a base in Los Angeles, has booked the largest order in the company’s history in the US. GATR EV, a division of GATR Truck Centers, has ordered 1,150 electric trucks from SEA Electric.

Meritor to supply drive systems for Hyliion
US vehicle supplier Meritor has been selected by Hyliion to supply its 14Xe electric drivetrain for the ERX hypertruck. Toyota subsidiary Hino Motors is also interested in electric drive systems from Meritor.

Ikea Australia commits to 100% EV fleet by 2025
IKEA Australia is electrifying its entire fleet with a commitment to have quit internal combustion engines for all delivery and assembly vehicles nationally by 2025. IKEA Australia has a fleet of around 100 trucks to swap for EVs.
