London introduces scrappage scheme

The City of London has launched a £110 million scrappage scheme for combustion engine vehicles. This follows the announced extension of the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) to the whole of London from 29 August 2023. The scrappage subsidies target economically vulnerable groups.

Arriva opts for Hitachi fleet charging solution at Brixton depot

Arriva, one of London’s biggest bus operators, recently replaced half of the 44 double-decker buses at its Brixton Tramshed depot in south London with new electric vehicles. Zenobē, Arriva’s solution provider, chose Hitachi Energy’s Grid-eMotion Fleet system to charge the 22 e-buses.

TfL bans scooters on public transport

Range extended electric buses with ultra-caps arrive in London

Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL) and BAE Systems have delivered the first 39 hybrid double-deck buses to operator Go-Ahead London. Using ultra-capacitors for range extension, their hybrid buses are the first of a fleet that is to grow to a total of 65 in the British capital.
