Headwind for two e-mobility projects in Berlin
In Berlin, a seemingly unlikely coalition is blocking two electric vehicle projects. The trade union Verdi refuses the purchase of 90 new electric buses by transit operator BVG. On top, the Senate could stop BVG’s and ViaVan’s ridesharing offer BerlKönig as early as April.

ViaVan launches fully electric van fleet in Milton Keynes
The ride-sharing provider ViaVan launches its first electric fleet in Great Britain. In the city of Milton Keynes, ViaVan is initially bringing five Mercedes Vito eTourers onto the roads and intends to expand its electric fleet there to 30 EVs by next year.

ViaVan plans to use only BEVs as of 2025
ViaVan, the joint venture of Mercedes-Benz Vans and the US startup Via, plans to convert all its locations to purely electric fleets by 2025. In Berlin, only fully electric vans are to be used from the end of 2020.

Daimler launches shuttle service ViaVan in Amsterdam
ViaVan, a joint venture by Mercedes-Benz Vans and the U.S. startup Via has started its on-demand shuttle service in the Dutch capital. They will use the Vito and V Class as well as the electric B Class until the arrival of the eVito. More cities are on the list.
