Tesla has to find a new manager for its European business after only a few months. According to insider information, Tesla Europe boss Sascha Zahnd is leaving the company – allegedly because of disagreements with Elon Musk.

As reported by Manager Magazin, the Swiss national was responsible for Model 3 sales in Europe, preparations for the Gigafactory in Grünheide, the expansion of the Supercharger store network and the development of the service infrastructure. He was also a member of the ‘Leadership Team’ around Tesla boss Musk, a kind of extended corporate management.

According to the magazine article, Tesla declined to make a comment on the matter. Zahnd had only just taken the position late last year, after his predecessor Jan Oehmicke threw in the towel. Like Zahnd, Oehmicke before him also left after less than a year and also because of disagreements with Musk.

Another prominent manager to have left Tesla recently was DACH boss Jochen Rudat who left the electric carmaker in September last year. After a brief engagement at Automobili Pininfarina, the manager has now become self-employed. As electrive learned a few days ago, Rudat founded two companies at once: Electric Ventures and muchbetterelectric. The first business is to help finance transport companies and projects, while the other offers project-based consulting in the areas of sales, marketing and strategy for eMobility companies.

Good hunting to Elon in engaging a new European Manager. Confidence is everything. Deposits and plans for purchasing upcoming models when available work when buyers know that the wait will be worth it. It needs to be. Let’s hope Elon has commitment and passion from his next manager to support the most interesting vehicle manufacturer perhaps ever.
