Geely's electric sports car brand Lotus has announced two new Europe-wide charging partnerships for customers of its electric cars. For public charging, Lotus is cooperating with Bosch, while for home charging there is a partnership with Mobilize Power.

First of all, public charging: Bosch’s charging services give customers of the Lotus Eletre (our driving review here) and the future Lotus Emeya access to more than 600,000 public charging stations in 30 European countries. The main markets UK, Germany and France are included. Customers will have access to the Bosch roaming network via their Lotus Charging Card or the smartphone app. Customers will also be able to view the respective conditions at a charging station in the app.

However, the Bosch partnership will not remain exclusive: Lotus directly announces that it is planning further partnerships of this kind in order to expand the European charging network over time. For Bosch, Lotus is not the first customer from the premium sports car sector: as reported, the Stellantis brand Maserati also relies on charging services from Bosch for its all-electric Folgore vehicles.

Lotus has also entered into a cooperation with Mobilize Power Solutions for domestic charging. An all-inclusive package at prices starting at 2,155 euros gross includes the delivery and installation of a home charger, including personalized support.

“Lack of charging infrastructure continues to remain one of the biggest barriers to electric vehicle adoption. We need make it easier than ever before to own an electric vehicle, in order to accelerate the transition to electrification and collaboration across the industry is key to this,” says Mike Johnstone, Chief Commercial Officer of Lotus Group. “By tapping into Bosch and Mobilize Power Solutions, we’re able to offer our customers further confidence in owning an electric Lotus by providing them with more and effortless options, wherever they are in Europe.”

“Availability of the public charging network is a primary concern for almost half (44%) of potential EV buyers and we are making significant headway to improve access across Europe,” says Olivia Arago, Vice President for eMobility Services at Bosch Electrified Motion. Nicolas Schottey, CEO of Mobilize Power Solutions, adds: “Charging at home is the most convenient way for Lotus customers to get the most from their EV and, thanks to our solutions and this new partnership, that is now easier than ever. We are proud to be the Lotus’ EV installation partner of choice.”
