Keba secures major contract from EO Charging
As part of the agreement, the two companies will install thousands of AC and DC charging stations over the coming months. Initial deployments are already underway in Sweden, Italy, the Benelux countries, and the United Kingdom. The rollout will also extend to France, the DACH region, and the Nordic countries. The total number of charging stations and the financial value of the partnership have not been disclosed.
Keba, originally a specialist in automation technology, has established itself in the electric vehicle industry as a manufacturer of AC charging solutions, particularly wallboxes. Since acquiring the insolvent manufacturer EnerCharge last autumn, the Austrian company has also added DC charging systems with outputs ranging from 40 to 480 kW to its portfolio. According to the announcement, the new partnership includes Keba’s AC chargers and DC systems for semi-public use based on the KeContact DCL10.
This DC charging station features an exceptionally slim dispenser, ideal for truck and bus depots, EO Charging notes. It is based on the KeContact DCU10 power unit. “All products will feature highly customised EO branding and pre-configuration for fast, low-cost installation,” the company added. It also highlights that Keba’s open service access concept will allow EO’s service partners to “install, operate, and maintain the stations with maximum flexibility and speed.”
EO Charging operates in the semi-public sector rather than public charging and has implemented charging solutions for major logistics and fleet operators such as DHL, Tesco, UPS, and Amazon. Drawing on years of experience from these projects, EO identifies reliable and efficient charging infrastructure as a decisive factor in the successful transition to electromobility. Through its own platform, “Charge Assurance”, the company guarantees customers 99 per cent uptime.
