Cellcentric and Mahle announce fuel cell cooperation
Mahle & Cellcentric, the fuel cell joint venture of Daimler Truck and Volvo, have signed a letter of intent to cooperate in the field of fuel cell technology. This concerns both the use in heavy commercial vehicles, but also “other applications with comparable requirements”.

IPCEI to fund 12 European hydrogen mobility projects
The German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Technology (BMWI) and the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure (BMVI) have selected 62 major projects to receive government funding as part of a joint European hydrogen project (Hydrogen IPCEI). The BMVI is funding twelve projects in the mobility sector.

Volvo CE opens fuel cell test lab in Sweden
Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has opened the Volvo Group’s first dedicated fuel cell test lab at its technical centre in Eskilstuna, Sweden. The aim is to develop hydrogen solutions for heavy construction equipment and other applications.

Cellcentric aims to mass produce fuel cells by 2025
Daimler Truck and the Volvo Group have presented the fuel cell joint venture strategy, Cellcentric, founded on 1 March 2021. For this purpose, the company plans to establish one of the largest series production of fuel cell systems in Europe.

‘Cellcentric’ fuel cell JV by Daimler & Volvo takes off
Daimler Truck and the Volvo Group have now founded their announced fuel cell joint venture as the Volvo Group acquired 50 per cent of the shares in the existing company Daimler Truck Fuel Cell. The partners have also agreed to rename the company Cellcentric.
