LiveWire appoints new CEO
Leadership change at LiveWire, the electric motorbike brand of Harley-Davidson: Karim Donnez is appointed as the new CEO with effect from 12 June 2023 and replaces Jochen Zeitz in this function, who will, however, remain Chairman of the LiveWire Group.

Harley opens order books for S2 Del Mar
The second all-electric motorcycle of Harley-Davidson’s LiveWire brand, the S2 Del Mar, can now be pre-ordered in the US. In Europe, customers can reserve the motorcycle from 27 April – and they have to be quick, as there are only 100 units available.

LiveWire One launches in Europe
The first all-electric motorcycle of Harley-Davidson’s LiveWire brand can now be pre-ordered in Europe. Just in time for the motorcycle season. For a €100 down-payment, customers in Germany, France, the Netherlands and the UK can reserve a LiveWire One and “secure priority delivery beginning later in April”.

Harley-Davidson has presented the second model of its LiveWire electric motorbike brand. The LiveWire Del Mar is based on the new S2 Arrow platform and has an output of 60 kW. Interest seems to be high: a Launch Edition limited to 100 units was already sold out after a few minutes.

Harley-Davidson plans to list its LiveWire electric motorcycle brand that launched in May. The listing will take place via SPAC merger with exchange shell AEA-Bridges Impact Corporation (ABIC). Just when we thought the recent glut of recalls was over, Harley-Davidson announced the recall of all 2020 LiveWire electric motorcycles produced between 23 September 2019 and 16 March 2020. Around 1% of these bikes appear to have a power loss issue related to the charging circuitry.

Reading tip: Ted Dillard has seen the Harley LiveWire and is rather unimpressed by the engineered sound (“timid”), the mirrors (“hazardous”) and 50-mile range (“unrealistic”). His favour only finds the low mount of the motor (“great solution”) that results in a “tight” and well tracked ride.
