The new electric axle allows more space for batteries in the truck by integrating the electric motors and transmission into the rear axle. According to Volvo, this should bring advantages especially in long-distance transport.

Volvo Trucks presents FC truck with 1,000 km range

Volvo Trucks has presented an electric long-haul truck that is supposed to have a range of up to 1,000 kilometres with a hydrogen fuel cell. The Swedish company is not yet sure when such a vehicle could go into series production – but the first test vehicles are already on the road.

IPCEI to fund 12 European hydrogen mobility projects

The German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Technology (BMWI) and the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure (BMVI) have selected 62 major projects to receive government funding as part of a joint European hydrogen project (Hydrogen IPCEI). The BMVI is funding twelve projects in the mobility sector.

Renault plans for electric truck in each segment by 2023

Renault Trucks intends to offer an all-electric range for each market segment (distribution, construction and long-haul) from 2023. Daimler & Volvo join on truck and bus fuel cells
