DB Schenker & Mpreis put Hyzon H2 Trucks on the road in Europe
Mpreis and DB Schenker are now using the first hydrogen-powered semi-trailer trucks from Hyzon Motors in Austria and Germany. Mpreis has received the first of 70 commercial vehicles ordered directly from Hyzon Motors, while DB Schenker is leasing an Hyzon H2 semitrailer tractor from Hylane.

DB Schenker gets Volta Zero prototype for further testing
DB Schenker is sending the first Volta Zero prototype on the road. A total of 150 Volta trucks will then be handed over to the logistics company by the end of the year. The all-electric Volta Zero prototype is part of a European field test.

DB Schenker to procure 100 electric MAN trucks
The logistics service provider DB Schenker plans to procure a total of 100 heavy-duty e-trucks from MAN by 2026. The first MAN eTruck vehicles are to be handed over in the first half of 2024. This is provided for in an agreement freshly signed by DB Schenker and MAN Truck & Bus.

DB Schenker pre-orders 2,000 eTrailers from Trailer Dynamics
In Germany, DB Schenker has signed a cooperation agreement with Trailer Dynamics. The logistics service provider will gradually roll out 2,000 eTrailers on different tractors in its European network from 2024 onwards. The trailers can be equipped with batteries of 300 kWh, 450 kWh or 600 kWh, depending on requirements.

DB Schenker decarbonises distribution transport on Gotland
The logistics arm of Deutsche Bahn, DB Schenker, has taken over all deliveries on the Swedish island of Gotland. DB Schenker uses four fully electric Scania P25 distribution trucks and two PHEV trucks from the Swedish manufacturer. The Gotland region has set itself the goal of being fossil-free by 2040.

Daimler eActros delivered to DB Schenker and Dachser
Daimler Truck has handed over the first eActros to German logistics companies around five months after Daimler started series production in Germany’s carmaking region of southwestern Germany. DB Schenker will use the eActros 300 to transport palletised consignments in the Leipzig area, while the Dachser has also taken delivery of another unit.

Plug-in car grant extended: The UK Government announced that the current plug-in car grant scheme will continue to offer motorists up to 5,000 pounds off the price of an PEV until at least February 2016, for all vehicle categories. The government previously indicated that grant levels would be reviewed once 50,000 vehicles had been sold, a milestone expected to be reached in November this year.
