Volkswagen launches electric truck production in Brazil
Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus (VWCO) began series production of its first all-electric truck in Brazil on Monday. The South American brand is manufacturing the e-Delivery distribution truck in the Brazilian city of Resende and initially plans to produce 1,000 to 3,000 units per year.

Volkswagen has officially unveiled the fully electric distribution truck e-Delivery and the Volksbus e-Flex concept of its Brazilian brand Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus at the IAA Commercial Vehicles. And for the first time, they had some details on the drive.
Brazil: Brewery Ambev to run 1,600 VW electric trucks
Brazilian beer maker Ambev plans to add 1,600 electric trucks to fleets of its logistic suppliers. The first will be the VW e-Delivery that is to hit the road this year. It is the kickstart of a trial designed to find the zero emission technology serving Ambev best.
UPS is trialing electric bikes
UPS is trialing deliveries with electric bikes and trikes in the streets of London and Pittsburgh. The British capital sees a bike trailer pushed along electrically, while in Pennsylvania it is an e-trike that hauls the parcels.
First electric truck by VDL
Tesla’s Semi inspires others to follow suit and it is Dutch VDL and DAF announcing their first electric truck. DAF delivers the base while VDL adds the electric motor and battery pack for what is their first foray into the electric heavy weight class.
