Dutch delegation heads for Lyon in electric car caravan

For this year’s Electric Vehicle Symposium 32, the Dutch delegation will be arriving in an EV caravan, driving all the way to Lyon from Amsterdam by electric car. Departure is on 18 May, in order to be there on time for the start of the symposium on the 20th.

French police test vamped up kick scooters

While kick scooters have been banned from pedestrian walkways in France, the French police force is looking into using the stand-up scooters (trottinettes) to fight street crime. If the three-month trial in the northwestern French town of Honfleur is successful, local authorities will invite scooter companies to make bids to supply police trottinettes.

VW accepting pre-orders for the ID.3 electric car

Today VW launched the pre-booking option in Europe for the first model of its new all-electric ID.3 family, the ID.3. The launch was also the first official confirmation of the name. Interested parties can now register for an early ID.3 production slot in 29 European countries.

France to ban electric scooters from sidewalks

France’s Transport Minister Elisabeth Borne has announced that she will ban electric scooters from sidewalks starting this September. In future, the vehicles will only be on the road or on cycle paths. Infringements could result in a fine of 135 euros.
