Futuricum’s specialised e-trucks now on roads
Four Swiss partners have joined forces to convert and operate two Futuricum electric trucks into special vehicles. The two examples feature an additional length of one metre, an increase of the payload by two tonnes and the expansion of the battery capacity to 900 kWh.
Volvo takes over majority of Designwerk
The Volvo Group has announced that it will acquire 60 per cent of the shares in Designwerk Technologies AG. The Swiss company offers electric vehicles under the Futuricum brand and also develops modular high-performance batteries and mobile charging technology for electric vehicles.
Designwerk & Daimler Trucks make low-entry e-truck
Designwerk has entered a partnership with Daimler Trucks and has included a low-entry chassis based on the Mercedes Econic in its own product range. The first vehicle of this type is to be delivered in the second quarter of next year.
DPD Switzerland gets electric truck with 680-kWh battery
From December DPD will be using an electric truck from Designwerk in Switzerland with a range of up to 760 kilometres. The 680 kWh battery on board is allegedly the largest truck battery in Europe and the first in the world to be used commercially in this form.
Liebherr presents all-electric truck mixers
The vehicle manufacturer Liebherr, in cooperation with Designwerk and ZF, have developed the first fully electric truck mixers with a drum holding ten or twelve cubic metres on a five-axle chassis. The first applications are planned for autumn 2020 at the customers Holcim and KIBAG in Switzerland.
