EMT Madrid places bus order with Solaris & Irizar
The public transport operator EMT Madrid has placed orders for 150 more electric standard buses. The Spanish manufacturer Irizar with 90 units of the 12-metre iebus and the Polish manufacturer Solaris with 60 Urbino 12 Electric are the winners of EMT’s largest electric tender to date.
EMT orders 20 Irizar electric buses for Madrid
The Madrid public transport operator EMT has ordered another 20 electric buses from Irizar. This brings the number of electrically powered Irizar buses in service with EMT to 55. The contract also includes the supply of 20 chargers with a capacity of 100 kW each.
Madrid opens free fully electric bus lines
In the Spanish capital Madrid, the municipal public transport company EMT has inaugurated the first ‘Línea Cero’, which is operated exclusively by electric buses and can also be used free of charge. This first ‘zero line’ is operated with ten electric buses from the Spanish manufacturer Irizar.
A fleet of electric buses is headed for Barcelona
Barcelona is expanding its zero-emission bus fleet as Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) continues to order new fully electric models to join the service. TMB aims to completely phase out diesel buses from its active fleet by 2030.
Irizar to deliver electric buses to Germany
The Spanish electric bus manufacturer Irizar has received new orders from Germany and Switzerland. A contract has been signed with Rheinbahn in Düsseldorf, Germany, for the delivery of ten electric buses. Irizar has also been awarded the contract to supply the electric bus system for the Swiss city of Schaffhausen.
