GM prepares for electric van production in Canada
General Motors will start producing electric vans at its plant in Ingersoll, Canada, later this year. Construction of the BrightDrop electric van is scheduled to begin there at the end of December. Light pickup production and a third shift will be introduced at the Oshawa assembly plant.

GM invests $6.6 billion to boost production capacities
General Motors has announced investments of 6.6 billion US dollars – around 5.8 billion euros – in the expansion of production capacities for electric vehicles and battery cells in Michigan. An existing vehicle plant will be extensively modernised and converted to electric cars, and a third cell production facility will also be built in Michigan.

General Motors completes small-series BrightDrop production
General Motors has produced the first examples of its BrightDrop EV600 electric delivery vehicle. For the initial small series production, BrightDrop is cooperating with a partner; later, series production is to start in its own factory. Additionally, BrightDrop is introducing a smaller offshoot, the EV410.

GM accelerates Ontario plant conversion for electric transporters
General Motors is accelerating the schedule for the plant conversion and production of the BrightDrop EV600 light-duty electric utility vehicle at Ingersoll in the Canadian province of Ontario. In order for GM to meet the demand for the electric van, the internal combustion engine built at Ingersoll is to be phased out earlier.
