Jaguar driver Mitch Evans has won the first Formula E race in Jakarta, Indonesia. Evans beat Jean-Eric Vergne (DS Techeetah) and Edoardo Mortara (ROKiT Venturi Racing) for second and third place to take his third win of the season in Jakarta.

Hyundai & LG ES to build battery plant in Indonesia
Hyundai Motor and LG Energy Solution have reached an agreement with the government of Indonesia to build a battery cell factory in Karawang near the capital Jakarta. The factory is scheduled to start production in the first half of 2024 with an annual capacity of 10 GWh.

LG Energy Solution to set up battery plant in Indonesia
LG Energy Solution will build a US$1.2 billion battery factory in the Indonesian city of Bekasi, east of Jakarta, together with the state-owned Indonesia Battery Corporation (IBC), according to a media report. The initial annual capacity is to be 10 GWh.

Two-month break in Formula E’s ongoing season
Following the cancellation of individual races, Formula E and the FIA have now announced that the 2019/20 season will be completely suspended for at least two months due to the Covid 19 spread. Even after that a resumption is not guaranteed.

Hyundai: $1.55 billion for first Indonesia plant
Hyundai Motors has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Indonesian government to build a vehicle manufacturing plant in Kota Deltamas, east of Jakarta, where an “electric production line is also being explored.” The South Korean carmaking giant will invest 1.55 billion USD in the plant until 2030.
