FEV to open high-voltage battery testing centre this year

In Germany, the vehicle development service provider FEV will put a development and test centre for high-voltage batteries into operation in the third quarter of this year. The centre will be called eDLP and is located at the company’s site at Sandersdorf-Brehna in the state of Saxony Anhalt.

About one year after the takeover by the Japanese Horiba Group, the battery and fuel cell specialist Horiba FuelCon is expanding its production site in Barleben, Germany. 250 new jobs are to be created.

Farasis to locate battery plant in Saxony-Anhalt

U.S. American battery manufacturer, Farasis Energy, plans to build an electric car battery production plant in Bitterfeld-Wolfen in Saxony-Anhalt. The battery giant wants to invest more than 600 million euros in the new plant with its newly founded subsidiary, Farasis Energy Europe.

Ford Transit converted to hybrid ambulance

Engineers from the Otto-von-Guericke university in Magdeburg in cooperation with the ambulance specialist Ambulanz Mobile have developed the first ambulance running on a hybrid system. A prototype was presented at the RETTmobil fair in Fulda.
