Uber expands premium EV service Comfort Electric
Uber has expanded its Comfort Electric service to 24 US cities and Vancouver, Canada. The company had launched Comfort Electric to build on deals with rental companies like Hertz. The latter is helping Uber drivers get their hands on Tesla and other premium electric vehicles.
Low-cost EV financing for Uber drivers through Moove
Moove, an African-born fintech start-up, has struck a deal with Uber in London. Moove will provide Uber drivers with electric vehicles through its latest rent-to-buy model. Moove aims to be the largest EV partner on Uber’s platform in London, with plans to scale to 10,000 cars by the end of 2025.
Kia Europe offers Uber drivers discounts on electric cars
Uber announces a new deal with Kia Europe, which will give Uber drivers discounted rates on Kia electric cars, including the e-Niro and e-Soul. This follows similar partnerships with Nissan and Hyundai designed to make it easier for Uber drivers to buy electric vehicles.
Uber Green launches in London
The ride-hailing service Uber has launched its ‘Uber Green’ service in London. Uber users in central London can now request zero-emission vehicle instead of wholly or partly fossil-fuelled cars.
Uber India to add 1,000 electric cars in partnership
Ride-hailing operator Uber announced a new partnership with Lithium Urban Technologies, that is among India’s largest electric vehicle fleet operators. They will deploy over 1,000 electric vehicles for Uber India’s Rentals and Premier services over the coming months.
Ukraine: Uber launches electric car fleet in Kiev
The mobility company Uber has launched its service UberGreen in Kiev. In the Ukrainian capital, 200 electric cars of different makes are to take to the streets and the company expects 10,000 people using the service by the end of April. Yet in other cities, progress has been slow.
Uber to share e-bikes in Europe, expanding UberGreen
Uber has not given up on Europe despite a ban of their ride hail service in many cities. Instead the firm tries to tie in with local authorities on a greener note. They want to launch electric bike sharing through their Jump subsidiary and also UberGreen, first in Berlin.
Uber Green launches with Renault Zoe in Bucharest
Ride hailing app provider Uber has launched its EV-only suite in Romania’s capital. 20 Renault Zoe have become available to book in cooperation with charging infrastructure firm ElDrive. The service is available in selected European capitals.
