Just one day after Israel’s battery company Phinergy announced a cooperation with Indian’s state-owned oil company Indian Oil Corporation, Ashok Leyland states that it also teams up with the Isreali to progress in the field of metal-air batteries.

The Indian utility vehicle manufacturer intends to develop several platforms for prototypes based on metal-air batteries supplied by Phinergy within the next months.

As reported, Phinergy and the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) seek to develop lightweight metal-air batteries together. The initiative follows a LoI that has been signed during a state visit of Israel’s prime minister to India. The agreement was one of a total of nine pacts signed after talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Netanyahu for strengthening bilateral ties in strategic areas.
