Magenta Mobility expands its fleet to over 2,000 EVs
Magenta Mobility has revealed that it operates 2,000 electric three-wheelers and over 250 electric four-wheelers, which are delivering goods in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Pune, Hyderabad, Gurgaon, Manesar, Noida, Faridabad, Surat, and Ghaziabad. Moving forward, the company aims to penetrate more planned cities such as Jaipur and Lucknow. It recently added 100 electric trucks from Tata Motors to its fleet.
“The deployment of 2,000+ EVs positions us as one of India’s largest electric cargo fleet operators and reflects our firm commitment to revolutionising urban logistics with green solutions,” said Magenta Mobility founder and CEO Maxson Lewis. The company will continue to expand its EV fleet, targeting 4,000 electric three-wheelers and 1,000 electric four-wheelers by March 2025.
With Indian companies increasingly switching to electric mobility for logistics and deliveries, Magenta Mobility’s business should thrive in the coming years. The company utilises its EV fleet to decarbonise last-mile and mid-mile deliveries of e-commerce, fast-moving consumer goods, fast-moving consumer durables, pharmaceuticals, food, and courier and logistics companies. Currently, it serves e-commerce giants like Flipkart, Amazon, BigBasket, Udaan, and logistics company Porter.
Magenta Mobility has also set up a comprehensive charging network with over 90 charging hubs and more than 1,500 chargers to support its zero-emission logistics operations.
Magenta Mobility ventured into zero-emission logistics in 2021 and has garnered considerable financial backing in the meantime. Prominent companies like Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), BP, and Morgan Stanley, as well as the JITO Angel Network, an early-stage investment platform, and Dr. Kiran Patel, an Indian American philanthropist, have invested in the start-up.
