Mercedes-Benz launches Van Electric Architecture

Mercedes-Benz unveiled its ‘Van Electric Architecture’, or VAN.EA. It will form the basis for all newly developed medium-sized and large vans from 2026. The aim is to increase the share of all-electric vans to 50 per cent by 2030.

Smaller battery options for Mercedes eVito & EQV

Mercedes-Benz is now offering smaller batteries for two of its larger people movers. The eVito Tourer and EQV can now both be ordered with a usable battery capacity of 60 kWh, as an alternative to the eVito Tourer and EQV with 90 kWh usable battery capacity.

Blacklane acquires majority stake in Havn

Berlin-based limousine service Blacklane, in which Daimler is a major shareholder, has acquired a majority stake in Havn. Havn is a London-based chauffeur service founded in 2019 by Jaguar Land Rover, which operates a fleet of the all-electric Jaguar I-Pace in the British capital.

Mercedes recalls passenger and delivery e-vans

Just a few months after its market launch, the Mercedes-Benz electric passenger van, the EQV is already subject to a recall: 302 EQVs produced between 21 February and 27 October 2020 will have to go back to the factory. According to our updates, the e-Sprinter and e-Vito electric delivery vehicles are also affected by recalls.

Mercedes reveals production locations for EQ ramp up

Mercedes-Benz is now providing a comprehensive overview of the production sites for its electric offensive for the EQ brand. Production of the EQA at the Rastatt plant in Germany among others has already started ahead of the model’s world premiere on 20 January 2021.

UK: Mercedes EQV prices are out and order books open

The new Mercedes-Benz EQV is now available to order in the UK with prices starting from £70,665 for the EQV 300 Sport, £72,895 for EQV 300 Sport Premium and £77,145 for the EQV 300 Sport Premium Plus. The first deliveries should be made this autumn.

ViaVan plans to use only BEVs as of 2025

ViaVan, the joint venture of Mercedes-Benz Vans and the US startup Via, plans to convert all its locations to purely electric fleets by 2025. In Berlin, only fully electric vans are to be used from the end of 2020.

Mercedes EQV concept – serial production launches 2019

Mercedes shows off in Geneva, and its Concept EQV is a purely electric, spacious saloon that is at home in the premium segment with up to eight seats. The production version is to be unveiled at the IAA this autumn with a 100 kWh battery for up to 400 km of range.
