European consortium looks into BEV coaches

FliXbus launches first intercity e-bus service in Portugal

FlixBus has launched the first electric express bus in Portugal in partnership with the local operator Auto Viação Feirense. The route from Bragança Bus Terminal to Porto includes stops in Vila Real and Amarante. This is not the first time that Flixbus has used (or trialled) long-distance electric buses.

Freudenberg, ZF & FlixBus cooperate on FC buses

Freudenberg has launched the HyFleet research project with ZF Friedrichshafen and FlixBus. The partners want to develop a fuel cell drive system for long-distance buses by 2024. In addition to the three companies mentioned above, a “major European bus manufacturer” that has not been named is also participating in HyFleet.

First electric long distance bus in Germany

FlixBus has introduced the first fully electric bus running the long-distance in Germany. Starting this Thursday it serves four times a day between between Frankfurt and Mannheim, including stops at Frankfurt Airport and Heidelberg.

Flixbus launches first long-distance electric bus route in France

Munich-based bus operator Flixbus has entered the electric age in France yesterday, as it launched two electric buses that will go the long distance. The coach service runs between Paris and the city of Amiens and electrive.com was live at the launch event in Paris, just at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.

German Flixbus to use Yutong E-buses

The long distance bus operator Flixbus is planning to introduce its first electric bus line in France. On the road between Paris and Amiens the company wants to use two electric buses as of April, which will be made by Chinese Yutong.
