Seat to produce hybrid Cupra Leon
The Seat brand Cupra has presented its first model with plug-in hybrid drive. The Cupra Leon eHybrid will be launched this year as a five-door model and as a station wagon version with the addition of a Sport Tourer. The technology comes from the VW Golf 8 eHybrid GTE.

Seat to release hybrid Leon
Volkswagen’s Spanish subsidiary Seat has presented the fourth generation of the Leon, which will also be available as a mild hybrid (eTSI) and as a plug-in hybrid (eHybrid) for the first time. Production will start in January and the market launch in April.

Seat makes electrification plans public
Seat has put its electrical strategy into concrete terms. The VW subsidiary plans to launch six electrified models on the market by the beginning of 2021. The electric versions of the Seat Mii and the Seat el-Born will be the first two all-electric models of the Spanish car brand.

Seat made the announcement as part of their annual presentation for the 2017 results in Madrid, stating that the plug-in hybrid version of the vehicle would be released on the market in 2020. It will be manufactured in the Spanish Martorell factory.

Spanish car manufacturer SEAT has tentatively announced their plans for a new MEB electric vehicle slated for release in 2020. Based on the new MEB platform, designed by VW, the car will feature a Modular Electrification Toolkit.
