BP invests $6 million in Freebee EV ride-hailing
In the USA, BP has invested $6 million in Miami-based all-electric ride-hailing business Freebee. BP led the business’s $8 million Series A funding round, with support from Freebee’s current infrastructure capital partner, Tensile Mobility.
Proterra strikes large follow-up up order in Miami
The US e-bus maker Proterra says it received an order from Miami-Dade County to deliver another 42 electric buses. This time around, however, the County will also install one of the largest fleet charging systems in the States with 75 Proterra chargers across three bus depots.
Lilium flying electric taxi hub set up in the USA
The German flying e-taxi startup Lilium has just announced its expansion into the USA. By 2025, the first hub for electric air mobility is to be built in Orlando in the US state of Florida. This will connect the region around Orlando itself with Miami in the south and Jacksonville in the north of Florida.
Lucid Motors to opt for direct sales model
Lucid Motors, the electric car start-up, has announced details of its sales and service strategy and nine Lucid Studios showroom locations in the USA. The first showroom has already opened at the company’s headquarters in Newark, California.

Tesla has updated the configurator for its Model 3, suggesting that more options for the car are about to be introduced. Moreover, the model has hit the first show rooms at the U.S. East coast, where it attracts a lot of attention.
Formula E race track in Miami.
For 2.17 kilometres (1.35-miles), the new Formula E race track twists through the streets of Miami, Florida. Drivers will have to take eight 90 degree turns to get to the finish line. The Miami ePrix will take place on March 14th 2015.
