BASF & TAT to cooperate on battery recycling in Germany
BASF has agreed on a long-term cooperation with the Israeli company Tenova Advanced Technologies (TAT) for its prototype plant for battery recycling in Schwarzheide, Brandenburg. Together, the two companies want to optimise the hydrometallurgical recycling process.

BASF to produce cathode materials in Brandenburg
BASF finally made it official: Schwarzheide in Brandenburg will be the new corporate site for the production of cathode material. The German production facility planned is part of a multi-stage investment plan to establish a European value chain for electric vehicles.

European batteries: Opel, PSA & Saft build for 64 GWh
This week, the EU Commission gave the go-ahead for what is being called “the battery alliance” in seven European countries. Subsidies were approved for 32 GWh battery cell production with PSA and Saft at the Opel factory in Kaiserslautern, Germany and an identical plant in France, making a total production capacity of 64 GWh.
