FLO scores deal to supply chargers to GM workplaces
North American charging provider FLO announces it has scored a multi-year deal with General Motors to supply AC and DC fast chargers for installation at GM premises in the United States. The charging stations will allow GM employees to charge their vehicles at the workplace.

BMW installed 4,350 charging points to date
The BMW Group has already exceeded its 2019 target of installing around 4,100 charging points at its German locations by the end of 2021. Together with its partner Eon, around 4,350 charging points have been installed to date.

Tesla launches Workplace Charging initiative for firms
Tesla has launched its Workplace Charging scheme. Similar to its Destination Chargers at hotels and shopping malls, this latest initiative offers companies the free installation of a Tesla AC charger. The businesses only have to cover cost of electricity.

Electrified bus fleet: King County, Washington, released the first of three electric buses into service in Bellevue. The Proterra prototype sits 38 and can be charged wirelessly, and is just one step in the direction of electrifying of the entire fleet. By 2020, all buses in the county shall be hybrid or electric.

Reading tip: Plug-In America is giving tips about how to best offer charging at the workplace. It says that charging should not be free, since it could lead to ‘freeloading’ and overloading, saying it is still better when an EV driver charges at home at night, when electricity is cheap and abundant.

UK invests 15 billion pounds: The government announces the biggest road-building programme for almost half a century to build and upgrade 1,300 miles of roads. The ‘Road investment strategy’ also includes a plan to create new charge points every 20 miles across the road network.

DriveNow kicks off in London: According to Financial Times, the carsharing scheme will start in the British capital this coming Thursday. The scheme will also include the all-electric BMW i3. Previous reports said, the service would not start until early 2015.
