New Flyer scores e-bus deal that could prove largest in the US

New Flyer continues its winning streak in the US as the NFI subsidiary receives an order over 30 electric buses from Capital Metro Transportation Authority (CapMetro) in Austin, Texas. New Flyer says this was the largest ever electric bus procurement in the US, considering CapMetro’s option over 141 e-buses.

New Flyer wins contract to deliver up to 150 e-buses

New Flyer has received an order for up to 150 battery-electric buses through the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority of Buffalo, New York (NFTA-Metro). To start with, the NFI subsidiary will deliver ten e-buses of type Xcelsior Charge.

Washington orders 20 more New Flyer buses

Washington’s King County Metro is acquiring 20 additional New Flyer electric buses. This follows the completion of an 18-moth test for two of the particular e-bus models launched in 2018. They also hold an option to purchase up to 63 additional zero-emission buses.

New Flyer reveals fully automated transit bus

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) has exercised an option with New Flyer to purchase 45 additional hybrid buses. New Flyer and Robotic Research have recently developed the Xcelsior AV and claim this is North America’s first fully automated transit bus.

New Flyer wins two bus supply contracts in the USA

New Flyer has been tasked with delivering their electric Xcelsior Charge heavy duty buses to  the state of Connecticut as well as the city of Atlanta. A total of 12 fully-electric, 40-foot buses were ordered by Connecticut’s DoT, while six buses are headed to Atlanta.

New Flyer joins OppCharge and CharIN initiative

New Flyer has joined OppCharge, the global initiative to support the integration of interoperable charging systems for electrified vehicles. The US manufacturer is the first company outside of the Volvo Group, who is joining the initiative from North America.

Toronto orders 10 electric buses from New Flyer

New Flyer of Canada have received a large order from the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) for ten electric buses with an option for another 30. The order is part of TTC’s plan to electrify their entire fleet by 2040.
