BYD to build new battery plant in Zhejiang
BYD is planning a new production facility for its blade batteries in Taizhou in the Chinese province of Zhejiang. Production capacities for 22 GWh per year are to be created there on an area of around one million square metres.
SVOLT plans two new battery factories in China
The battery cell manufacturer SVOLT, which emerged from the Chinese carmaker Great Wall, is expanding its production capacities in China. New factories are planned in Huzhou in China’s Zhejiang province and Suining in Sichuan province, each with annual capacities of 20 GWh.
Nidec to double China production capacity
Japanese electric motor manufacturer Nidec plans to double its production capacity in China. In addition to a factory under construction in Zhejiang Province, Nidec will invest 20 to 30 billion yen (160 to 240 million euros) in the construction of a second production facility for traction motors.
China: Leap Motor receives 2 billion Yuan capital
The Chinese electric vehicle startup Leap Motor has generated a total of 2 billion yuan (250 million euros) in their most recent financing round. They may even reach 2.5 billion yuan by the end of the year, with the Shanghai Electric Group leading the way.
