Energica to expand HQ in Italy

The Italian electric motorbike manufacturer Energica, part of the US group Ideanomics, has begun expanding its headquarters in Modena. The expansion by another 1,150 square metres of space will serve research and development, prototype testing and the Energica Inside business unit.

The latter further develops Energica components for sale to other manufacturers and is working on several new projects in the fields of agriculture, shipping and aviation as well as urban mobility. In other words, through Energica Inside, the company is also building a foothold as a supplier of eMobility components. The company wants to support OEMs “in the conversion to electric vehicles and bring new products to the market quickly and cost-effectively”.

Ideanomics had taken over the Italian electric motorcycle manufacturer about a year ago and has since supported the growth of the brand – in the development and distribution of the electric motorbikes, but now also in setting up Energica Inside at the expanded headquarters. With the new facility, Energica Inside should be able to take on more projects – partly for Ideanomics itself, but also from external clients.

“Our reputation and know-how enables Energica to attract talented people from around the world who often choose to stay and build their career with us,” says Livia Cevolini, CEO of Energica Motor Company. “We look forward to growing our facility, expanding our staff, and welcoming new people ready to make EV history.”
