As the Swedish trade portal Bussmagasinet reports, Nobina is ordering the 15-metre, three-axle Urbino 15 LE Electric model. olaris introduced this model at the beginning of 2020, focusing on the Scandinavian markets. In many other countries, twelve-metre solo buses and 18-metre articulated buses are more common. However, the demand for 15-metre three-axle buses in Scandinavia is so large that it is worthwhile for the manufacturers to have their own model – Solaris also offers the Urbino 15 LE Electric in other markets. Still, sales are clearly focused on Northern Europe.

The 55 electric regional buses, each with a battery capacity of 560 kWh, are scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2024 and will be used in the greater Stockholm area. At the model’s premiere, a maximum battery capacity of 470 kWh was mentioned. With the large batteries, pure depot charging is planned. The middle door was adapted for Nobina and has a wheelchair ramp, and the third axle can also be steered to reduce the turning circle.

The 55 Urbino 15 LE Electric for Nobina will not be the first of this type in Sweden. In September, public transport operator VR Kristianstad ordered 20 units from Solaris – and three Urbino 12 Electric.
